Band Showcase Submissions

BAND / ARTIST SHOWCASE SUBMISSIONS

From Wednesday October 13th to Saturday October 16th, 2010, the Artist Management Conference will take place in New York City. During the daytimes (Thursday and Friday), educational panel sessions, illuminating keynote presentations, stimulating networking breaks, and enlightening mentor sessions will take place at the conference host venue. During the evenings (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) we will present several artist showcases, networking receptions and parties for conference registrants to attend.

For the evening showcases, spread out over 4 venues on each night, we are looking to book a total of about 30 - 40 bands.  If you would like us to consider your band for one of the showcase slots, you may register after reading the information presented on this page. As part of our commitment to run a ‘greener’ conference, band submissions will be accepted online ONLY (no submissions accepted by mail). The deadline for submissions is July 31, 2010.

The non-refundable Band Submission fee is $35, and if you are not selected you will receive either a Discount code for $35 off conference registration fees, or access to a password-protected area of the conference website with video footage of one of the panel sessions of your choice. If you are selected for a showcase slot, you will be notified by August 31, 2010.

Following is some important information regarding Band Submission procedures and showcase information:

• The submission fee for band showcases is $35.
• The deadline for submissions is July 31, 2010.
• The submission fee is non-refundable.
• All genres of music will be considered.
• We are not accepting submissions via mail. All submissions must be made online, so make sure you have your songs, bio, photos, etc., somewhere they can be listened to and viewed (e.g., your own website, MySpace, Purevolume, ReverbNation, etc).
• If you are selected for a showcase slot, you will be notified by August 31, 2010.
• If you are not selected you will receive either a Discount code for $35 off conference registration fees, or access to a password-protected area of the conference website with panel session video footage, PDF's, PowerPoint presentations, etc., of your choice.
• You or your band must be seeking management representation (i.e., don’t submit for a band showcase if you already have a manager).
• If selected, each member of the band will receive a complimentary Full Conference Registration badge, plus a performance fee of $75.
• If selected, a meal and drink ticket will be provided for each band member at the performance venue.
• If selected, the size of the band performing must be limited to 4 (i.e. , prepare to ‘strip down’ the size of your group to no more than 4, or to share the performance fees for 4 among the extra musicians).
• If selected, rehearse and put together a 25-minute show (consisting of however many songs you can fit into that time frame).
• Equipment backline, to be shared by all bands on the bill and consisting of a drum kit, bass and guitar amps, keyboard (if requested), and microphones (in addition to a sound guy), will be provided by us. You will be responsible for bringing your drum accessories, individual guitar and bass instruments, and any other instruments/props that you require for your show.
• Any video footage of your performance will be provided to you for use in your EPK or on your website.
